Community Guidelines

Last updated: April 28, 2026

Our Mission

The Artist Base is a community built for music artists — DJs, producers, vocalists, and everyone in between. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive, and inspiring environment where artists can learn, grow, and connect. These guidelines exist to protect that mission and ensure everyone can participate with confidence.

1. Be Respectful

Treat every member the way you'd want to be treated. We welcome diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and skill levels. Constructive feedback is encouraged — personal attacks are not.

  • Engage in good faith — assume positive intent
  • Give feedback that helps people improve, not tear them down
  • Respect differences in musical taste, culture, and experience level

2. Prohibited Content

The following types of content are not allowed on The Artist Base:

🚫 Spam

Unsolicited promotions, repetitive content, bot-generated messages, or any form of commercial spam. This includes mass-sending identical messages or flooding community channels.

😤 Harassment & Bullying

Targeted harassment, intimidation, threats, doxxing, or any behavior intended to make someone feel unsafe or unwelcome. This includes persistent unwanted contact after being asked to stop.

⚠️ Inappropriate Content

Sexually explicit material, graphic violence, or other content that is inappropriate for a professional music community. Artistic expression is valued, but content must be suitable for our diverse community.

🗯️ Hate Speech

Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic.

🔴 Violence & Threats

Threats of physical harm, encouragement of violence, or content that glorifies violent acts. This includes both direct threats and veiled or implied threats.

❌ Misinformation

Deliberately spreading false information that could cause harm to others or undermine trust in our community.

©️ Copyright Infringement

Sharing content you don't own or have permission to use. This includes uploading music, images, or other creative work without the rights holder's consent. Samples and remixes must be properly cleared or used within fair use guidelines.

🚷 Impersonation

Pretending to be another person, artist, brand, or organization. Parody accounts are not permitted.

3. Reporting Content

If you see content that violates these guidelines, you can report it directly through the platform. Every post, comment, message, and demo has a report option. When you submit a report:

  • Your report is confidential — the reported user will not know who filed the report
  • You will receive a notification when your report has been reviewed
  • Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, typically within 48 hours
  • False or abusive reporting may result in your own account being restricted

4. Enforcement

We use a graduated enforcement system. The severity of action depends on the nature and frequency of the violation:

Level 1 — Content Removal

The specific content is removed. You receive a notification explaining which guideline was violated.

Level 2 — Warning

A formal warning is added to your account. You receive a detailed explanation of the violation. Warnings are cumulative — repeated warnings lead to escalation.

Level 3 — Account Restriction

Your ability to post, comment, and interact is temporarily suspended. You can still browse the platform and access your purchased content and courses. Restrictions are applied after 3 accumulated warnings, or immediately for serious violations.

Level 4 — Account Suspension

Your account is fully suspended for severe or repeated violations. You will not be able to access the platform. Suspension is reserved for the most serious cases, such as threats of violence or illegal activity.

5. Appeals

We believe in fairness. If you believe a moderation decision was made in error, you have the right to appeal:

  • Appeals can be submitted within 6 months of the moderation action
  • You can appeal through the link provided in your moderation notification, or by contacting us at sacha@masterthemix.com
  • Appeals are reviewed by a different team member than the one who made the original decision
  • You will receive a response to your appeal, typically within 5 business days
  • If your appeal is upheld, the moderation action will be reversed and any warnings removed

6. Auto-Moderation

To protect our community, content that receives multiple reports from different users may be temporarily hidden from public view while it is being reviewed. This is an automated safety measure and does not constitute a final decision. The content will be restored if no violation is found upon review.

7. Your Tools

You have control over your own experience on The Artist Base:

  • Block users — Blocked users cannot see your content or contact you
  • Report content — Flag content that violates these guidelines
  • Leave communities — You can leave any community channel at any time
  • Delete your content — You can remove any content you've posted

8. Transparency

We are committed to transparency in our moderation practices. We publish regular reports about the number of reports received, actions taken, and outcomes. These reports are available on our transparency page.

9. Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, community needs, or legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will notify users through the platform. Your continued use of the platform after changes are made constitutes your acceptance of the updated guidelines.

10. Contact

If you have questions about these guidelines, need help with a moderation issue, or want to report something that requires urgent attention, contact us at sacha@masterthemix.com.
